FLUID HAMMER IN FLUID TRANSMISSION LINES – a definition.
Fluid Hammer is a series of hydraulic shock waves generated within the confines of a piping system due to
the sudden stopping of fluid flow. This condition is caused by fast closing of positive valves incorporated within
the system. The effect of fluid hammer is damaging if allowed to exist for any length of time and will result in
broken pipes and damage to other components in the system
PPP Hammer Arrestors are available for all types of fluid systems – water, deionized and triple distilled water, chemicals and petroleum products.
A maintenance-free installation is assured when using this type of arrestor…the only moving part is the free moving piston furnished with “O”ring seals which have been tested for reliability in excess of normal operating
ranges.
Application: Chemicals, Corrosive fluids or environment, distilled and triple distilled water, or fluids under high pressure
Available in NPT or BSP threads.
